Assistant to the General Director for Finance and Accounting

– In my previous position I was the Chief Financial Officer, I worked in India, New Delhi, at the production of refrigerators and washing machines. It is a joint venture of Koc Holding and Tata Group. We have achieved a lot: with zero investments we have grown the team to 1200 people. The term of my previous appointment was agreed for a minimum of three years. This period was coming to an end and I was waiting to be sent to another country but I did not know what country it would be. It turned out to be Russia.

Due to the different organizational structure at my previous job, my responsibilities were broader. They included both the main function of finance and accounting.
The field of accounting and finance is not very different in various countries. So there were no special changes in my work when I moved. Since this is my third assignment, I know approximately what problems I may face. In addition, Arcelik has a well-established global policy for expat workers and this greatly simplifies work and relocation to other countries. The hardest thing for me was to have the heart to relocate, everything else was easy.

Now my area of responsibility is the management of all the financial and tax activities, cash flow planning, conducting accounting transactions and support for financial resources of Beko LLC, as well as budgeting and reporting to Arcelik A. S. Of course, times are difficult now: COVID and all the complications due to the pandemic. The expectations of business partners and end users have changed. Consumers started to use online shopping channels more frequently, to pay more attention to the properties of products related to hygiene and environmental friendliness. The financial market is more volatile compared to the times before the pandemic. Our financial model is adapting to these new conditions and this is the main challenge in my work today.

– I have dual basic education: I studied to become an electronics engineer and a business administrator. I also received a Master's degree in Electronics from Istanbul Technical University. Before moving to Russia I had worked for 13 years at a washing machine factory in Cayırova, a town not far from Istanbul. I had the opportunity to work in three different departments: six years as a maintenance engineer, four years as the head of the group of mechanics at production and more than two years as the head of the group for automation of digital production systems.
I am proud to have had this opportunity and I am very happy to join my new family in Russia thanks to Arçelik.
Before relocation I had already visited the Russian factory three times but I did not stay longer than three or four days. I want to say I am proud that I've had such an opportunity and I am very happy to join my new family in Russia thanks to Arçelik.
This is a new milestone in my work because I have to deal not only with washing machines but also with refrigerators. I am very glad that I have to learn something new.
In addition, I see that there are many people at the factory with much more experience in the profession, so there is someone to learn from. I hope that I will be able to become a part of this family and we will jointly implement all the existing projects and operate as one team toward our common goal.
