Internship: first for the summer, then for life period
A few years ago, Beko launched a program of attracting young specialists, named "Fresh start", which included creation of jobs for summer period for perspective young people and provided an opportunity to undergo internship or industrial practice. Such a program helps both to familiarize young people with modern production and popularize working and engineering professions, providing, at the same time, demonstration of career opportunities in our company.

From year to year, Beko continues to collaborate with key universities and colleges in our and neighboring regions. The Fresh start program, which we supervise together with Tatiana Agafonova, is, first of all, aimed to support close cooperation with career centers of educational institutions: the company applies for internships, then students are selected according to professional bailiwick, proactive scientific, volunteer and extracurricular work. This year, more than 60 young people came to Beko for internship, they worked in almost all departments of the company, most of them - at production sites.
College students master skills of line operators, machine tools, assist in equipment repair, study learn mechanical, electronic, and assembly processes. Interns from universities become assistants to engineers and office staff: they learn technical processes, equipment operation principles, help with documentation, work with graphic programs, prepare reports and presentations. After such immersion in profession and practical application of theoretical knowledge gained in educational institutions, many students are interested in the opportunity to commit themselves with Beko. Yesterday's interns defend their diplomas and qualification projects based on the results of their internship in our company, and return here again after graduation.
In addition, work in order to popularize technical professions and explain their importance is also underway at the plant. For this purpose, cooperation in the direction "school - college - university" is being established, excursions for schoolchildren and students are regularly organised.

More than 60 interns completed their internship at Beko this summer. They worked in all departments and production sites of the company. For many of them, the experience gained will serve as the basis for further professional activity.
Often, former students after an internship and gaining work experience return to the plant for full-time employment. Now they are our colleagues and share their impressions about work and professional choice.
Dmitry Kruglov
technician
“When I was a 3d year student of the Kirzhach Engineering College in 2018, I was offered to undertake internship at Beko. I was very interested in it, because the company provided the opportunity to master operating CNC machines. At that time, I was preparing to take part in the World Skills Olympiad, an annual competition in professional skills. So I was inspired and started my two-month internship at the site for repair of technological equipment of CNC machines. It was my first acquaintance with the production process, with equipment operation, and my mentor explained and showed everything in detail. It was very interesting.
Then, in 2019, together with my college classmates I was offered to take part in the the Smart League competition organized by Beko. We prepared mini-projects devoted to improvements at the plant. I and three other participants became winners and scholars of this competition.
Therefore, in the 4th year of study, I made my conscious choice to undertake internship at the Beko plant: I was assigned to the production line for refrigerator panels. It was a new experience and I've got an additional knowledge too. I wanted to know and to learn more. So, of course, after graduating from college, I came back to the Beko plant for continuous work.
In my opinion, internship is a very useful experience for students who want to work at the plant after graduation, and I mean not only our plant. Such internship immerses in the production process, you begin at least to imagine what you have to deal with. Of course, there is a great difference between practice and real work, primarily in scope of responsibility. For those who will come for internship now, I would advise to demonstrate more initiative, in order to be evaluated as a promising employee.”
Elizaveta Filippova
logistics specialist
Beko is a promising company with great opportunities for professional development. First time I came here almost by accident, but it turned out to be my life choice. I studied at the Ural Institute of Management, RANEPA, in Yekaterinburg, when my boyfriend was invited to work at the Beko company, and then learned about the part-time vacation offering for students for summer period. Logistics department of the company needed an assistant for the period of holiday vacations. It interested me, and I started my internship with pleasure. I was well accepted into the team, colleagues taught me everything, it was enough asking to explain something - and everybody immediately explained and showed everything with pleasure. I learned document management, working with accounts and registers. I really liked everything, and especially our communication within the team. And when I got to know the company from inside, I decided that I would like to continue working here on a full-time basis.
And when I received my diploma, I already returned to Beko for a full-time work, to the same logistics department. And today I am satisfied: it is very important for me to improve myself constantly and Beko gives such an opportunity. A big advantage for me is possibility for employees to learn English at the company expense, and that language skills can be developed through live communication with foreign colleagues. There are very good opportunities for professional progress here even at the initial stage.”
Ivan Raskov
software developer
“During my study at the Orekhovo-Zuyevo College of Industry and Economics, I found out that students from the Kirzhach Engineering College undertake internship at Beko, then obtained necessary contacts and came to the plant on my own. I had my first internship at the beginning of the 3rd year of education, and I really liked the team, we communicated very closely, team members organised my training, introduced the enterprise to me. I did an internship in the IT department, prepared a project as a software developer. I asked my internship supervisor a question - will I have the possibility to return here for a full-time work? And when I received positive answer, I resolved the issue with the college, and a year and a half ago I began working on a full-time basis, at the position of system administrator.
In general, our enterprise is always open for new possible employees. If people are eager to work, want to learn new things, implement new interesting projects, they will always have chance for both training and career development. Now I communicate with newcoming students myself. If I see the willingness to achieve some goals, readiness and abilities to try hard in this direction, desire to obtain some new opportunities, we will work together even if nothing goes right. In fact, when you teach someone, at the same time you test your own knowledge, and even learn something new when searching for answers to the questions of interns. So internship in this sense is mutually beneficial, useful and interesting for both students and their mentors!”
Mikhail Grafov
Operator of Automated and Semi-Automated Lines of Metal-Forming Equipment:
“I did my first internship at the Beko plant in 2018, as a Setup Technician Assistant in the Plastics Processing Shop. At that time I was studying at the Kirzhach Mechanical-Engineering College. We were introduced to the production in general, and not only to the equipment at our site, learned various details. It was very interesting. At the beginning of 2019, just like Dmitry Kruglov, I became the winner and scholar of the Smart League competition and came to Beko for my second internship.
At first, I was very anxious, because it was necessary not only to master something new, training, but you also feel responsibility: the entire production line may stop if you do something wrong, and this may affect everyone. But I managed it, and after graduating from the college in 2020, I started to work at the Beko plant as a Door Line Operator of the Mechanical Production Workshop. I was also attracted by the fact that everything was familiar to me, and that besides of working during internship, I also earned money - unlike our friends who did internships in other places. So everything worked out well, I do not regret that I came to our company from the very beginning. And I would advise newcomers to be more attentive, listen and absorb everything they hear, not just try to “serve out” their internship period - thus it will be easier to engage in from the very beginning due to understanding what and how to do. And work will infatuate.
