Commitment to win
On August 20, Moscow hosted the 1st corporate futsal tournament named "Yuri Semin Cup - 2022", with participation of the teams invited from leading Russian enterprises. Beko football team also took part in this sports festival.
About the tournament
20 teams took part in the one-day tournament. Representatives of various companies working in banking and insurance sectors, metal industry, fuel and energy complex, construction, medicine and pharmaceuticals, transportation, defense industry, IT & telecommunications and others fought for leadership not only in the industry, but also in sports.
At the first stage, the contest was organised between four groups, each group included five teams: the winners advanced to the playoffs were determined according to the results of four matches. At the second stage, there was a rivalry for the 1st place: quarter-final, semi-final and final. According to the competition rules, five players with goalkeeper entered the field and played two halves of 8 minutes each.
The tournament was attended not by the first-team squad of the Beko company, because at the last gasp three key players had to cancel the trip for various reasons. This decreased our chances already at the start, but the players decided to fight for victory anyway.

The first game made the situation even more complicated: already at the very beginning of the first half, one of the leading players was injured on the field. He received medical treatment but missed the next two games. And just for the second game, the strongest team of the tournament, GK SU-555, was drawn as the Beko team opponent by lot. The game ended with the score of 3:0 in favor of the opponent. According to the Beko team players, this fact helped them to concentrate better, analyze their mistakes and win in the next two games. As a result, Beko team won two out of four games of the group stage with a score of 3:1 and 2:0, drew one game and lost one in favor of the GK-555 team. According to the first stage results, the team took second place in its group and advanced to the quarterfinal of the tournament Gold cup. And here, already for the first game, the team got the second strongest participant of the tournament as an opponent - the Freight One team, to which favor Beko players lost with the score of 2:0.
- There is nothing offensive in loosing to the more strong and experienced team. Moreover, our opponents arrived to the tournament with the full complement of both main and reserve teams, which allowed them to make more substitutions on the field. - said Nikolay Statsenko, the captain of the Beko football team. Moreover, it was clear that it is a very experienced team, they have been playing together for a long time, cause teamwork has great influence at the result. In general, I think we performed well, especially given that it was the first tournament for the Beko team in its current complement.

Football fans and lovers from different cities of Russia gathered to see live sportive event at the modern Sapsan Arena stadium. The matches were held in intense fighting atmosphere and evoked the liveliest emotions of the fans.
The tournament, according to its participants, passed perfectly - everything was organized very good, teams performed quite descently on the field, not allowing any rudeness towards their opponents, tried to show beautiful football. The teams slightly differed from each other by level and experience - some were performing better as a team, others were perfect in playing techniques, but there was not any great difference between them, result of the game was often determined by luck and fighting spirit of the players. Teams were represented mostly by experienced players, from 25 to 45 years old and even older, for whom football has long been an integral part of life.
- Our team gained a valuable experience from participating in this tournament, - said Nikolay Statsenko, - team training is one thing, but participation in the tournament rewards a team with the experience of the active fighting against new opponents, with their unique style of playing. We fought to the finish and tried to represent our plant at the tournament honorably, no one refused from participating, everybody was in tune for the game, and I extend a big thanks to our team in this regard. I think that by the next tournament we will understand each other better, everyone has seen his mistakes and determined issues to be worked out in training.

Our team has gained a huge experience from participating in these competitions. The players fought till the end and tried to represent our plant at the tournament as much honorably as possible.
About the Beko team
The Beko plant has its own football team for a long time, but for the past few years, due to the COVID epidemic, it did not take part in any tournaments, and was not able to train regularly. In addition, in the last two years, only three players remained from the regulars, including the present captain. On the one hand, it is good - young players who are seriously wedded to football have come, and regular trainings, at least twice a week, began. But still, there was not enough time to achieve good teamwork performance, and besides, the lack of experience in participating in major tournaments also had an impact. But we are sure that it is just a start on the way to future victories and solid achievements. After all, when experienced players who have been passionate about football since childhood and cannot imagine their lives without this sports, form a team, they can obtain everything they need to win more than one cup and a gold medal for the plant sooner or later!

About the football and future plans
“Football is like a chronic disease, in the finest sense of the word,” Nikolay Statsenko jokes. - once you got sick with it, it will stay with you for the lifetime. When you don’t attend trainings for a long time, you feel no energy waking up in the morning, like something is missing. Football provides both emotional and physical stress relief, training people abstract themselves from work, everyday matters and troubles. This gives an opportunity to communicate with friends with same interests, feel high spirits everyday and maintain physical tenacity. And I am very glad that the company management gingers up our football team. Every week we train on the plant's futsal field, and for winter the company rents a sports hall for us. Participation of our team in the last tournament was also approved by the Beko management, we were paid registration fee and travel expenses. We are very grateful to the company for such permanent support and in responce we will try our best to represent Beko at all games with due honor. Now we are planning to run team trainings as often as possible in full force, and I believe that we will be able to show a better result at the next tournament!

I don't think we should worry about not becoming champions. This is just a game, a ball, a field - today they win, tomorrow we can, it is a sport. It's enough to tune in to new victories and train more with the full complement. The main task of our team today is to play together as perfect as possible, however, after the squad renewal, we had very little time to work it out. And of course, it is necessary to participate in new tournaments, strive for next victories - This is the essence of football!

- I have been fond of football for about twenty years, for the last two years I have been playing in central midfield of the Beko team. We were really looking forward to take part in our first tournament and despite the fact that not all of our guys were able to play this time, the team mindset was still positive, we were not disheartened but ready to demonstrate a good game and have fun. Moral support played an important role - wives of some of our comrades managed to come and cheer for us. All teams of the tournament were about the same level, excepting for GK SU-555, which finally became the winner. It is properly co-ordinated and skillful team, and it was clear that they have been playing in this line-up for more than a year. The rest of the teams were all about the same level, some were just a little more lucky compared to others, but everybody tried to fight till the end. For me, our advance to the quarterfinals became the highlight of this tournament. We were very happy that, despite all the difficulties and the fact that we participate in the tournament with such team squad for the first time, we managed to get into the playoff. I believe that we have every chance to improve our results in future, we just need more time for training in order to gell together better. As for the rest, we are quite ready for new tournaments and championships!
