A new museum has opened in Kirzhach - there you will not only learn about how the villagers and townspeople lived in the 19th century but you can also taste the history.
Until recently, the house of the Obelovs was dilapidated and could have completely disappeared if it were not for the general director and the main shareholder of OJSC Kirzhach Printing House, Yevgeny Sergeevich Fedorov who took an active part in its fate. Through his efforts, many interesting and must-see points have already appeared on the map of Kirzhach: the Sovyonok Children's Theater, the Vshivaya Gorka Museum and Park Recreation Area, the KirzhEl Fruit and Berry Garden, the Museum of Architraves, the Museum of Copper and Brass and others.
The speed with which the Obelovs' house was trimmed was striking: it was bought out in March and already on June 1, on the International Children's Day, the museum was officially opened.
As many as three construction and restoration teams worked on it: Sergei Mezentsev with his partners from Crimea, the team of the Shershilov brothers (the ones who built the Typographic Bridge - the longest wooden pedestrian bridge in Russia) and the team of the hereditary carpenter-argun Mikhail Gashin.
The collection of the museum will continue to be replenished with old-time Russian artefacts but already now it can boast of truly priceless exhibits - genuine photographs from the family archive donated to the museum by Nadezhda Obelova.
An important element in the work of the cafe-museum "Ovin" is that they will use exclusively environmentally friendly plates and dishes. The format of the cafe does not imply ceramic tableware or glassware. Plates and cups will be disposable but not plastic and made of 100% recyclable biomaterial, completely safe for health and nature.
