DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION
Women in the profession. Unlimited Potential
When the job is to your liking, professional success and respect from employees can be achieved in any position. We asked female colleagues in technical and management positions why they chose their major, what they liked about it, and how it affected their personality and family life. And we found out what our heroines have in common: they are all united by a sincere love for their job!

Lucky mistake
Since childhood, I have been drawn to mechanisms and equipment. I remember back in elementary school I started helping my grandfather repair his car. One day my sister asked me to support her and go with her to the Kirzhach Mechanical Engineering College, where she has been admitted. In the corridor I saw block headlights and lanterns on a stand. And I decided that they were teaching car production here, especially since the college itself was called "mechanical engineering". The decision was made instantly: I successfully graduated from school, so I was accepted without exams. It was only later that I realized that cars and machines are two different things. But I don't regret my choice at all. It was a lucky mistake.

I feel involved
I became part of the "Beko" team in 2007 - I came to work as a controller in the refrigerator laboratory. My first boss then directly and honestly told me: "We need men’s hands in the laboratory, since we will have to deal with tools, repair sensors and solder". Nevertheless, he believed in me and accepted me into the team. I am sure that he did not regret his decision. Now I work as a quality engineer - I am very pleased with the successes of my colleagues from production, when, after our audit, they improve processes, solve problems and implement a systematic approach. I feel my contribution and my involvement.

In a man's world
Manufacturing is largely a man's world, where it can be difficult for women to adapt. Often you have to think and act a little like a man: assertively, coolly and decisively. Don’t be afraid to defend your position and be able to support it with reasons. When male colleagues see that the conversation is being conducted in a professional language, respect immediately appears. At that, female charm and empathy are very helpful in smoothing out rough edges and finding mutual understanding.

The job has chosen me itself
The job has chosen me in a sense I received education in "advertising", which allowed me to go in any direction in this field. I was looking at various creative and media agencies when one of the first digital experts in Russia noticed me. During an interview for another position, he said that he wanted to hire me in his developing department. I trusted his instincts and decided to try: from the first weeks it became clear that media and digital were my thing.

It's never boring
When people ask me if I love my job, I always answer that I don’t just love it, I live my work and I don’t understand how you can do anything else, how you can do something that does not inspire you. Digital today is one of the most dynamic professional areas. It constantly changes and forces us to constantly evolve. There is never a dull moment here and there is always an opportunity to do something better - better than others and better than you yourself did before. And all ideas and initiatives can be confirmed and measured. Success in digital does not depend on point of view, it is objective.

You have to be a perfectionist
In order to be successful in my field, one needs to be an unstoppable perfectionist who does not accept the word "impossible". I always tell my team and partners that absolutely anything is possible; I have not seen other examples. One just needs to figure out how to do it. I find energy and excitement in this way of looking at business. We can always do better, and it is in our hands.

I do a creative job
Work has always been a source of inspiration for me and often pushes me towards creative exploration and personal evolution. During the period when at one of my previous jobs we had a big focus on making the creative things, I decided to take up drawing myself, study color and composition, and after some time even become a sketch artist. Projects with kitchen appliances and contract management with a famous chef gave me a love for cooking and a passion for Italian cuisine. For me, work is what develops me both as a professional and as a person.

This job is for me!
During my studies, I worked part-time as a secretary at the "Vestel" company and was simply shocked by how the sales people worked - life was constantly in full swing in their department, everything was in motion, in drive. And then I thought: "This job is for me! I want it too!" And when my temporary part-time job ended, I approached the head of the sales department and said that I was ready to deliver papers, count any signs, study 24/7, but just take me to you! They hired me, and one way or another, but for about 20 years now my work has been related to sales.

I am an extrovert by nature
What I really like about my job is interacting with people. Both with external partners and within the team. I myself am an extrovert personality type, and I am close in spirit to people of the same type - purposeful, energetic ones. I like to live at a fast pace and quickly solve emerging challenges, because in sales we live in short iterations, from month to month. True, as a manager I have to be not only a sprinter, but also a marathon runner: for example, we are now working on a strategic plan for three years. We need to analyze many factors to understand: what will the market be like in three years? What wants and needs will the buyers have? What products should we have? It's interesting, but also responsible.

The goal is to make an agreement with a person
Communication and negotiation skills are important in this type of work. Thanks to psychological education, this is to some extent easier for me. Intuition is combined with acquired knowledge. But I noticed that it was with practice in sales that I began to see people better - to determine an approximate psychological type, quickly notice the emotional state of the interlocutor, and understand what approach to him is needed. And then you can build your behavior, your conversation in accordance with the kind of person in front of you, because the goal is always to come to make a deal.

At home I am a mother
At work I have a leadership position in a huge department. And sometimes it’s difficult to switch gears at home, throw off this mask and just be a mother. Sometimes my eldest daughter tells me: "Mom, that’s it, you’re home, stop solving problems". Well, of course, I often "work part-time" as a consultant on household appliances for all my relatives and friends. What to do? I've been in this field for many years and really know a lot. I can advise a person on what to buy, depending on their needs and budget. It is especially pleasant to recommend the models produced by our plant. Not because I work here, but because it's a really good equipment.
As a leader one has to be not only a sprinter, but also a marathon runner.

Engineer, refrigerator assembly shop

I have had a love for mechanisms since childhood
At first, choosing a profession was not my conscious decision: I didn't know what I wanted to do, and my mother suggested that I become a pharmacist, since I liked chemistry at school. I entered the Chair of Fine Organic Synthesis Technology at ISUTU and chose the direction of "basic organic and petrochemical synthesis". And there I was already seriously interested in my specialty: we studied not only chemistry, but also technological processes, were engaged in modeling devices and calculating their capacities. I had no problems understanding the operation of the equipment, although it is considered to be a man's job. Maybe the fact is that since childhood I was interested in what boys usually do: I did martial arts, loved to play football and, of course, loved mechanisms. My father used to transport timber, he had several trucks, I loved to travel with him, to see how repairs were made, what should work and how it should work, so I have had a love for mechanisms and equipment since childhood.

Doubly interesting!
Now I work as a production engineer for a refrigerator assembly line: I monitor and adjust the operation of equipment for foaming the polyurethane foam, and also monitor and am responsible for the quality of this material. We have a laboratory where the testers trained by me check the physical and mechanical properties of polyurethane foam. At the slightest deviations, we make adjustments to the equipment parameters. The fact that I both study my favorite chemistry and work with complex equipment makes my specialty doubly interesting.

We do the teamwork
In production, the most important quality is the ability to multitask, plan and optimally arrange the work process, analyze problems and effectively look for ways to resolve them, and be persistent. It is also important to be sociable, since the production depends on many departments and it is necessary to constantly communicate between teams and make joint decisions.

I'm my mom's engineer
The skills and knowledge acquired over years of work as a developing technologist and production engineer make it possible to quickly find solutions to emerging technical problems with home appliances and cars. I often joke that "I’m my mother’s engineer". But most of all, I like that thanks to my job I have made friends - specialists in various fields of science and technology, communicating with whom I continue to gain new knowledge. We periodically engage in joint development of materials, and this is very inspiring. When they ask me if I like my unfeminine job, I say without a doubt: "Yes"!
