You can listen to, touch and even play with unusual children's publications. The employees of the Foundation and its wards express their gratitude to us, and we tell you what the essence of this good deed is and why it is so important.

How do visually impaired children read books? Visually impaired and blind people can read books using embossed dot tactile Braille font. But this is difficult for small children from three to eight years old. And besides, no font can display illustrations, which are so important for children and their development.

The children's books of the Foundation contain a number of ideas that help to engage all human sensory organs. For example, a "magic pencil" is a device that can be moved across the page, and in different parts of it, depending on the plot, audio reproduction of the text occurs and music plays.

The illustrations are made large and bright - for those who do not see well enough, and convex - for those who see poorly or do not see at all. The books have tactile inserts - soft, smooth, embossed. For example, you can feel the "fur" of a kitten, the "scales" of a fish, or the "spines" of a hedgehog.

And the books themselves are designed in such a way that they can be unfolded in three-dimensional space. It turns out to be a kind of "stage" of a puppet theater with decorations and characters. This allows the child not only to immerse himself in the story being told, but also to take part in it in a playful way.

The author of the idea and organizer of the publication of illustrated books for small blind children was Alexander Gerasimovich Deghen, the founder and first chairman of the board of the Foundation.

The Organization has been operating since 1994. Over 30 years, with the support of philanthropists, more than 150 titles of tactile books were published, which were received by about 200 thousand children in 85 regions of Russia.

With the support of "Beko", 20 sets of books for children with visual impairments will be received by children attending the "Petushinsk Integrated Center for Social Services of the Population of the Vladimir Region and the Special (correctional) General Education Boarding School of the City of Kovrov of the Vladimir region".

In 2024, the Foundation issued "The Adventures of Munchausen" in two books – about the travels of the resourceful baron "on the earth and in the sky", as well as "on land and at sea". In addition, the publishing house has released an educational set "The World Around Us", which includes the books "Antonyms" and "Carnival of Insects" with fascinating stories about the world of living creatures. Children of the Vladimir region received both sets thanks to the help of our plant.

Kits with books also include various devices and manuals:

– board games – cards with riddles, crosswords, mazes and other tasks that help children develop observation, logical thinking and creative imagination in a playful way;
– three-dimensional game set of figurines of book characters and a colorful decoration package for a tabletop theater;
– "magic pencil" - an electronic device complete with headphones for reading microcodes placed in books and on cards, thanks to which texts and pictures "speak" and "sound" when being pointed at.

All educational sets are made in such a way that a child can play with them both under the guidance of adults and independently. What is important is that the publications of the "Illustrated Books for Little Blind Children" of the Foundation are not only a wonderful gift for a visually impaired child, but also a useful educational aid for children who do not have any vision problems. This makes it possible to arrange joint games and real theatrical performances in families with different children and conduct inclusive classes in preschool institutions.
