Presents for Knowledge Day
On September 1, the new school year began for millions of Russian schoolchildren. And to make this day a real holiday for all children, a charity event “Help get ready for school” is held annually in our country. One of the participants in this all-Russian event for several years now has been the Beko company.
Max the Bear congratulates first graders on the beginning of the school year
Getting a child ready for school is not an easy and it is very expensive task. This year, the cost of a school set for a first-grader (including clothes, shoes and a briefcase) in different regions of Russia ranged from 25 to 43 thousand rubles. And, of course, not all parents can afford such expenses, especially when it comes to large or low-income families. To help people in this complicated situation and turn September 1 into a real holiday for all first-graders, social centers, public and charitable organizations across the country are purchasing stationery, backpacks and other school supplies and donating them to their care recipients.

Before the start of the school year, the Kirzhach Integrated Center for Social Services provides targeted assistance to schoolchildren from large low-income families, children with disabilities, as well as children of SMO participants. For more than five years, the Beko company has been actively cooperating with the Center and helping to support people who find themselves in difficult life situations. At the request of the administration of the social service center, our company provides targeted assistance to people with disabilities, purchases gift sets to congratulate WWII veterans and the elderly, and, of course, pays special attention to helping families with children.

As part of the “Help me get ready for school” campaign, Beko purchases orthopedic backpacks and high-quality stationery sets (notebooks, diaries, sketchbooks, pens, pencils, rulers, etc.). Every year our company tries to increase the scope of assistance to children. Thus, if in 2021 we purchased 400 stationery sets, then this year, at the request of the center administration, we were able to give them more than 450 sets and 20 orthopedic backpacks for first-graders.

For Beko, charity is a sincere desire to help those who need it
Svetlana Blinova,
director of the Kirzhach integrated center for social services:

"Beko" is a regular participant in the charity social event “Help get ready for school”, which our Center holds annually. We are grateful and appreciative to the management of the company and personally to Mr. Gokhan Ozgurel, who does not refuse help and support to families and citizens of preferential categories. And of course, I want to once again say a big thank you to all the Beko employees with whom we communicate for their responsiveness and participation. We hope that we will continue to cooperate and help people just as successfully!
The center's staff and volunteers decided not just to give gifts to first-graders, but to organize a fun holiday for them as well. An entertainment program was prepared for the children with interesting competitions in which they could express themselves, music and dancing. An invited volunteer dressed as a life-size doll, Max the Bear, came to congratulate the children. The children greeted the bear with pleasure, danced and did circle dances. The holiday turned out to be very cheerful, positive and friendly. At the end of the event, first-graders were given their first backpacks and wished to be diligent and good students. Children who were unable to participate in the holiday were visited by the center’s specialists at home and, with good wishes, were given stationery kits and backpacks that had been prepared for first-graders.

The cooperation between Beko and the social service center does not end there. Very soon, volunteers will be congratulating their care recipients on the Day of the Elderly, giving them gifts (including from the Beko company) and warm clothes collected by employees. A program of events is also planned ahead of the Day of Persons with Disabilities. And this year will end with the purchase of sweet New Year's gifts for children from large and low-income families, as well as children with disabilities. And, of course, our company, as every year, will help the center’s employees give joy and warmth to those who need it most.

For Beko, charity is not just part of corporate policy, but also a sincere desire to help those who need it. We cooperate not only with the Kirzhach Social Center, but also with other organizations that turn to us for help, with the city administration. After all, our employees and their families live in this city, and we believe it is important to do our part to make people's lives better.
