The best projects of the year

The results of the traditional competition "Project of the Year" have been summed up. The company's employees presented unique developments to improve quality control, marketing promotion of products and increase production efficiency. We are introducing the winners.

Inhouse Energy Labels’ Production Project

Manager

Yulia Kudryavtseva

specialist of the purchasing department

In the past, the information about the energy consumption class on labels for Beko refrigerators and washing machines was printed by third-party organizations. Now we do it ourselves during the production process. Why was this necessary? Firstly, it was necessary to place orders to intermediary printing houses for various types of labels, which reduced the efficiency of planning and production. Secondly, the company spent large sums on printing because different types of labels were required, depending on the function and class of household appliances.

As a result, the project was created to systematize the types of labels, leaving only the most necessary templates, purchase special printers and print information stickers ourselves. We started working in this direction back in 2020. We ordered equipment, created templates, prepared workplaces and instructions for production. The key stage was the commissioning of a special application for printing information on labels in online and offline modes. This was done by IT department specialists Ilya Tsvetkov and Nurlanbek Abdizhalilov. They still maintain the stable operation of the production line in this direction.

As a result, we see the reduction in the costs of the enterprise, the increase in production efficiency and the possibility of flexible planning.

The Inhouse Energy Labels’ Production Project has not been completed yet. Some points still need to be developed. For example, there are plans to print energy efficiency labels with a QR code for Europe, as well as transfer printing from the offline mode to online at the second section of refrigerators.

Project Beyond Fascia Update 60 cm Deep Combi

Manager

Ivan Ermilov

Design Engineer

Our task was to implement the new Beyond design for existing 60 cm wide refrigerator models with the deeper body and No Frost cooling system and to do it in such a manner that would allow minimum modifications into the assembly process. We have compiled the list of what will change within the project, worked out new accessories, doors, walls of the refrigerating compartment, developed the ID component and, after coordination with colleagues from Arçelik, started implementation.

In this project, we used several new elements and technologies. An idea was developed and implemented with an identification component designed to fit our new models into the corporate design of the Group. We have learned how to apply decorative coating by hot stamping on large transparent components and previously we used this technology only for small logos. Harvest fresh technology has also been tested and added, which has positive effect on preserving the freshness of products.

As a result, in May 2021, the new model range of premium products under the Beko brand was launched, which will expand over time, which will allow our company to gain new positions and market segments. We can surely say that we have managed to implement all our plans. And soon we will supplement the range of freestanding refrigerators with two models of freezers (F60293NE, F603312NE) in the Beyond design.

The project team consists of very good specialists in their fields, starting from the preproduction and ending with the refrigerator assembly line. Developing the Beyond project, each of us has learned something new from the experience of his colleagues.

Project: Traceability System of the Washing Machine

Manager

Ivan Bogdanov

head of the workshop for the production of washing machines

We started the project to introduce product traceability back in 2019, when the first part of our work was implemented. It was great collaboration between the quality department, the IT department and, of course, the production team.

The result of the first part was the successful implementation of traceability for such components as motor, tank, body and electronic board of the washing machine. All these components were important from the viewpoint of using critical components inside the washing machine, as well as as part of the system for the possibility of producing the washing machines with Bluetooth function.

In the second part of the project, we set ourselves the task of continuing to increase the traceability of critical components by adding the water disposal pump, the heating element and the group of wires to this list.

What was it for?
First of all, it allowed us to see which components and at what time were installed inside the washing machine. This is very important from the viewpoint of quality and in solving potential problems that may arise for the end user.

Secondly, this system allows you to minimize the risk of installing an inappropriate component on a particular model of a washing machine, as well as significantly reduce the sampling in case of a critical error.

The second part of the project was more difficult to implement: due to the coronavirus pandemic, some of our deadlines shifted months ahead. But this fact "did not undermine" us but allowed us to work out more thoroughly all the necessary issues for the implementation of the final goal.

The result was 100% fulfillment of the tasks set, and moreover we were able to add an electronic motor card for models with inverter motors to the list of critical components.
This project is not an end point. The third part of the works is planned to increase the number of traceability components. The list should be replenished with a washing machine drum, another electronic card and a noise suppressor, and we also plan to introduce digital control of all washing machines that have passed through repair points and repeated tests.
