– How do you see this interaction in the future?
– Beko offers us assistance in organizing trips, accommodation of athletes and much more. And this is very important. For example, so far we are forced to save on paying for hotels for participants and stay in hospices, where 8-12 people are in rooms at the same time. Of course, I would like to give children more comfortable conditions for leisure, and we will probably talk about this topic soon with Sergey Telitsyn, head of the administrative department of Beko plant. It would be nice to improve the material base of our school here in Kirzhach, our chess boards are worn out, we should buy new ones, and modern chess clocks cost a lot. We also rely on our partners in this.
Well, for our part – we are engaged, of course, with the children of Beko employees. At the same time, it should be understood that chess not only develops thinking, logic, it also educates a child.
– And how exactly does such "chess" upbringing manifest itself?
– First of all, chess instills communication and sociability skills in children because in order to play well you need not only to know certain sets of combinations but also to understand your partner. You need to foresee your actions, understand their consequences – and at the same time take an example from something good, better, otherwise you will not achieve anything. And competitions that are held according to "adult" rules, according to the FIDE system, with real sports results, also teach you to be successful, focused and achieve your goals. Moreover, they teach it independently, without parents or coaches, to solve the tasks set. When our children come home after a week of the tournament, even their parents call us and say: we can't recognize the children, they have become so serious!
And, to be honest, it's very nice to hear it.
