The time before the New Year is magical: wishes come true and even the most cherished dreams come true. And it's great that there are people who help make the fairy tale a reality. Svetlana Blinova, director of the Kirzhach Complex Centre of Social Services for the Population, talks about the help that Beko Plant provides to children in difficult life situations.
- Every December our centre holds the social campaign “Present the New Year”. But for it to take place, throughout the year we work hard on attracting sponsors and benefactors - those who can make gifts to minors and their families in difficult life situations, large families, families with disabled children. We also ask for help in purchasing sweet Christmas kits for low-income elderly people and people with disabilities. This year the management of Beko Plant has kindly agreed to provide New Year gifts to children from low-income families. About two hundred boys and girls will receive them.
- Have you been cooperating with Beko for a long time?
- We have been cooperating with Beko Company for about five years.
Many thanks to the head of the plant, Mr. Gokhan Ozgurel who provides support to families and individuals in need. Beko often comes to help those who need it. On the eve of the Day of Knowledge, children from low-income families were presented with stationery kits, school uniforms and some got even student desks, for the holiday of Great Easter, a master class on making Easter souvenirs was held for the pupils of the centre.
- Basically, these are sweet gifts that children from poor and needy families receive. But our esteemed benefactors always offer targeted assistance. Therefore, along with sweets and tangerines, children can get a construction set or an educational game, adjustable skates or thermal underwear for winter sports, tablets or children's synthesizers, interactive toys and much more. Every family is unique and, of course, a targeted approach is the best and most needed help.
- Promotions on the eve of the New Year holidays can have different forms, it all depends on the situation. In the past, we held 4–6 festive events, with the help of youth volunteer organizations. These have always been theatrical performances with a beautiful Christmas tree, fairy-tale characters, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden and, of course, with the presentation of New Year's gifts from sponsors. For those who could not participate in the holiday, we organized home visits with Santa Claus and Snow Maiden, showed New Year's mini-performances. Now, due to the difficult epidemiological situation we are holding such events with limited participation of invitees (up to 10 people), and this year we will mainly do congratulations at home.
