New line and new opportunities
This year, our plant completed one of its most important projects: a new automated production line for panel housings for washing machines is being commissioned.

– As soon as preliminary agreements were reached, we began working on technical follow-up and risk prevention with the equipment manufacturer. Technical follow-up during the line development and project implementation stage, under the current challenging conditions, lasted more than a year. Finally, when all decisions had been implemented and the line was ready for trial runs, our experts visited the equipment manufacturer's plant and conducted all the necessary checks. The tests have revealed that the equipment produced meets our expectations and is capable of producing washing machine panel housings of the required quality and in the required quantities. And our Chinese partners are ready to visit us and help install the line and launch it into mass production.
This is the future of our washing machine production. The production capacity of the new line is approximately 2,000 housings per shift, which will allow us to gradually replace the entire model range with new housings, starting from E400 and E450, E500 models and up to the possible introduction of E540 and E600 models – washing machines designed for large loads, because this line is capable of producing the housings of these models as well. And most importantly, we will be able to use modern technologies that will make our equipment more convenient and efficient.

Team efforts
To install the new line, extensive preparatory work was carried out at the Beko plant. It was necessary to design and build a foundation for the equipment, install an overhead conveyor to carry the flow of new housings to the paint shop, and provide all the necessary utilities – electricity, water cooling and compressed air systems, etc.
All of these tasks were handled by a large cross-functional team at Beko: chief engineer's department, construction department, welding department, and, of course, almost the entire technical development team. As a result, the majority of the work was carried out by the plant own resources, which allowed for significant savings in the infrastructure preparation budget.
Andrey Matveev
Lead Construction Engineer:

– To install the new line, we needed to not only build a foundation, but also reinforce the roof structure to secure the overhead conveyor. We reinforced the roof purlins, installed the additional brackets for fastening, and then began assembling the metal frame of the conveyor itself. By now, most of this work has been completed, and welding department workers are installing the rails for the trolleys that will transport the washing machine housings.
Despite all the difficulties, preparatory work is proceeding as per the schedule, and soon the entire plant infrastructure will be ready to receive the new equipment. Although the line is quite large and it will take time to set up and configure for all product models, plans are underway to begin mass production of panel-type housings as early as October–November of this year.
A step into the Future

The launch of the new line opens up new opportunities for Beko. Now, all washing machine models produced by the company can receive a new housing with a modern design and, more importantly, these models can provide a wider range of functionality. From now on, the plant will be able to use all the advanced process solutions developed by the company's R&D department in production of its washing machines. This means that Beko equipment will continue to meet all customer expectations.
