An unusual competition, “Clean Games,” has been held in Kirzhach for the second year. Its participants actively clean forests and parks of garbage, search for artifacts, contribute to charity, and obtain ecological friendly habits. The Beko company immediately supported this wonderful initiative and became a partner of Clean Games in Kirzhach.
“Clean Games” is an environmental event in the format of a team game-competition, which is organized by the interregional public organization of environmental and patriotic education “Clean Games”. Cleaning competitions began in 2014. During this period, more than 2,100 games were organized in 580 cities in 30 countries, in which more than 132,000 people took part, collecting more than 3,700 tons of garbage.
Cheerful and friendly team - "Beko - live easily"
“Clean Games - 2023” took place in Kirzhach as the part of the Eurasian Cleanliness Cup, in which more than 110 Russian cities and 50 cities in the CIS countries (Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Abkhazia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan) took part. Especially it should be mentioned that this year children's teams took part in the competition for the first time. The Beko company helps organizers purchase prizes for the winners (household appliances and souvenirs), as well as decorate the event venue with tents and necessary furniture. Also this year, our company was represented at the competition by the team “Beko” - “live easily” together with the excellent photographer - Anna Golovanova.
Finishing of the games: we had fun and spend quality time!
Even before the start of the competition, teams could earn points for collecting batteries, charity caps, and empty medication blisters. In addition, the tournament included charity events aimed to collect school supplies and stationery, as well as pet food, which were later donated to various Kirzhach projects. Points were also awarded for ecological habits: for example, for bringing a mug and spoon, collected badges, and for books brought for exchange.
Before the start, the teams did energetic exercises and went into the forest to hunt for garbage. During the game, 188 bags of garbage were collected and, most importantly, 80% of them were recycled. A lot of participants took part in the “Artifact” competition for the most interesting finding. They found an old doll, a shoe, a street indicating sign and a lot of other interesting and unusual things. Moreover, the participants had to tell an interesting story about the artifact they found. Of course, after such an active gambling, an appetite arise, and the players were treated to a delicious vegetarian lunch. The team competition was held in several categories: corporate and family teams, as well as teams of schoolchildren, which were divided by age. And we are very happy to congratulate our wonderful team “Beko - live easily”, which managed to take 3rd place in its nomination!
The participants of the games made excellent motivational posters
Irina Churikova,
head of the “Ecological Kirzhach” environmental movement and coordinator of “Clean Games” in the Kirzhach district:
“Clean Games” is a project that is very important for everyone: for the participants themselves, for our partner companies, and for the city in general. For participants, this is an opportunity to have fun and spend quality time, acquire the separate waste collection skills and teach this to their children. For partners, this is advantage for the brand image, and for the city, it is not only cleanliness, but also an increase in the consciousness of its residents.
Ecological habits are obtained from childhood
Yulia Bryzgalova,
Specialist, Supply Chain Planning Department:
“I noticed that last year only two people from Beko took part in Clean Games, and I decided that this time I will also participate and represent our company. This was my first environmental event, and I was amazed by its scale and high level of organization. Everything was well-thought-out to make the game for the players as much comfortable and interesting as possible. There were many volunteers working at the games who helped the players and answered their questions. We collected garbage in the park on Yuzhny, sorted it into bags for further sending for recycling, and received points for this action. I took part in the game in the “Family Team” category along with my two daughters and my eldest daughter’s friend. We tried very hard to collect as much garbage as possible, but still could not take first place. And my girls have already said that next year they will definitely take part in the game again and collect even more garbage. I believe that “Clean Games” turned to be a very successful idea, which not only allows us to make our city cleaner, but also helps to teach children that we are all responsible for the cleanliness of the world around us.
