Join the Team of Champions!
Sports and a healthy lifestyle have always been key elements of Beko’s corporate culture. Why? The answer is simple: sports not only help employees unwind after work but also build strong teams of like-minded people and support their physical well-being. All they need is the desire to take part – the company takes care of the rest.
Yulia Ersal,
HR Specialist at Beko:

– When sports are part of corporate culture – when the company offers employees opportunities to train or helps organize competitions – it’s not only enjoyable, but also highly beneficial. Any sport supports the overall health of the company, boosts employee productivity, and improves performance at work. Regular physical activity is proven to reduce stress and increase energy levels, which is especially important today. In addition, sports encourage teamwork and leadership, as participants learn to collaborate, support one another, and overcome challenges together.

At Beko, everyone can find a sports activity that suits them. Several sports facilities – including volleyball, basketball, and football fields – have been set up on the plant’s grounds. After the workday ends, both individual employees and company teams train there. For several years now, the plant has had its own mini-football team. What started as a casual pastime grew into local competition – first in Kirzhach and Alexandrov – and later into participation in larger events, such as the Moscow “Oleg Romantsev's Cup” and the Koç Group Corporate Championship in Istanbul.
Vladimir Verkhoglyad,
Automatic Line Operator, captain of the Beko football team:

– I’ve been passionate about football since childhood. When I joined the Beko plant, I immediately began playing for the company team and later became its captain. We train regularly and take part in amateur league competitions. I can confidently say that football at the plant is on the rise. Much of this progress has been possible thanks to Beko’s support: the company provided uniforms, fully covered our tournament travel expenses, and rented both a gym and a football field for training.

In 2023, the plant formed its own beach volleyball team to proudly represent our company at the Koç Group International Sports Festival – and it paid off. Despite having no professional volleyball players, the rookie team made it to the podium and brought home the bronze in its very first competition!
Anatoly Uzun,
Head of the Planning Group and Captain of the Beko Volleyball Team:

– I got into volleyball about two years ago. At the plant, I met some colleagues who were also into it, and together we decided to form a team. We reached out to Beko’s HR department to ask for a place to train, and the request was handled quickly. Now we have a great outdoor court on-site for the summer, and during the winter, the company rents a gym for us in Kirzhach, where we continue our training in the colder months.

I’d like to emphasize that any employee – whether they’ve been with the company for years or have just joined – is welcome to join one of our corporate teams. All they need to do is reach out to the team captains or the HR department.

And if you haven’t found a sports team that suits you, why not start a new one with your colleagues? The HR department and Yulia Ersal will be happy to support you. After all, Beko is always eager to encourage sports initiatives at the company. The first step is simply wanting to do it!
